SINGLE-FAMILY HOUSE IN KOCZEK, MAZURY, POLAND
Project created on student exchange with Eindhoven University of Technology.
The idea was to investigate what creates spatial intimacy in living environment. the house’s plan structure is a sequence of spaces with various degrees of privateness. In that way inhabitants of the house have a possibility to give each encounter different shade of meaning and intimacy. Variety of levels and rooms height was designed to indicate changes in purpose of the space and it’s accessibility to house members or guests. I tried to keep balance between exposure and enclosure, keeping spaces connected which each other but not homogenous, since homogeneity of space removes all possible subtlety of social interaction.
